In the beginning of March (check our calendar for dates), Trackside Theater is very excited to be bringing you Steel Magnolias, the original play by on which the famous 1988 movie was adapted.
As we get closer, we’d like you to meet Trackside’s local cast and crew who are working so hard right now to bring you this dramedy about the strong bonds between a group of six women in northwest Louisiana.
So, without further ado, here are your cast and crew:
Detra Tutton as Clairee
Detra was bitten by the theater bug as a freshman at Bridgewater College, too many years ago, and has enjoyed the last two years on stage at Trackside. She adores her three daughters and spends her weekdays teaching English at their school, FRCS, grateful for the unending support of her family and friends.
Kelly Ann Zitzer as Truvy
Kelly caught the acting bug at Trackside Theater in 2012 and has performed in many local productions since. When not performing onstage, Kelly enjoys traveling and spending time with her family and friends.
Lisa Aleshire as M'lynn
Lisa has been acting and directing for many years. This show has a special place in her heart, and she would like to dedicate her performance to her momma, the strongest woman she knows.
Nia Rivere as Annelle
Nia has been an avid actress on the Trackside stage since 2013, and they haven't been able to get rid of her yet. She is very excited to play a role unlike any of her previous ones before, and she hopes to provide something to Anelle that has never been seen before.
Rachel Aleshire as Shelby
Rachel is a senior at Bridgewater College and will be graduating soon with her Bachelor's degree in Communications Technology and Culture. Rachel has been involved with theater since she was nine years old and hopes to continue to be involved even after she graduates.
Tina Switzer as Ouiser
Tina has lived in Luray for over 20 years and has been on or behind the Trackside stage since 2012, often with her family (3 daughters and hubby). She is currently on the nursing faculty at JMU School of Nursing and is the co-owner of a local record store and an honest to goodness crazy cat lady (not by choice).
Trackside Theater is an all-volunteer, 501c3 nonprofit and depends on donors like you to keep family-friendly live theater going in the Shenandoah Valley. Please consider donating by clicking the button above.
